linguaRomanian language is spoken by about 23 million people in Romania and Romanian people that live outside the country. Romanian language is a roman language

As Spanish, French, Portuguese and Italian languages, romanian language developed especially from latin language. When roman people came in Dacia in 105-106 after Christ, brought with them a greater culture, different habbits, also their language, slangy latin (language spoken in that period not literary language). In short time ,low latin replaced local language. After recession of romans, Dacia became a latin enclave between slavonic people. As a consequence of this isolation, Romania got a linguistic structure similar with the latin one but did not know a development as french, italian and other roman languages. The new language, romanian language fought to remain a latin language in the middle of a slavonic world.

If you know italian or portuguese, you will find out that romanian language is a combination of theese two languages with little slavonic influences.Rezistance at this influences was so strong that frequently slavonic words coexist with the latin ones inside the language.

Actually, latin patrimony is more obvious in the name of this country than in every other roman language.
