How you get to Bucharest
BY PLANE
In Bucharest exists following airports: International Airport Otopeni (oppened in 1970), sittuated approximately at 17 km by the capital. To easily reach the airport you have a taxi service, bus lines 488 and 451, who reaches Free Press Square with lines 131 and 301 and minibusses which reach the town centre. Otopeni Airport is now modern.
Second aiport is Baneasa Airport. This aiport is main used for internal flights, but there are also international routes. Baneasa Aiport is nearby capital, in the same direction with Otopeni International Airport. Concerning the types of flights, there are flights for every pocket: regular flights, charter flights or low cost flights.
Regular flights are offered by TAROM airline companies, romanian national airline company and ALITALIA which opperates in codeshare.
There are daily flights from Roma and Milano.
At the two state airline companies was added a series of low cost airline companies wich offer cheap flights such as CARPATAIR, a pretty young company which in the last few years won a good rate of international airline transportation, especially business class with connections from Italy, Germany, Hungary, Ucraine and Romania.ALPIEAGLES offers flights from Venice to Busharest and Timisoara, while MERIDIANA is proposing lines from Verona to Bucharest.In the last few years we assist at an offer boom for airline transportation with low costs. BY TRAIN
In Bucharest there are 5 railways: North Railway, Basarab Railway, Obor Railway, Baneasa Railway and Progresului Raiway.
Every one of these stations offer the possibility to reach Bucharest from every direction but only North Railway if the arrival or passing point for international routes from West and East of Europe.
The only direct train on the route Italy-Romania leaves every day from Venice at 21.04. As a alternative you can stop in Viena to take the bus to Romania.
